The Hardware Carrot

April 11, 2006

I am not your typical college student.
Aside from spending my money on Caffeine and technological addictions (NintendoDS anybody?) I haven’t spent a cent on alcohol. No no my readers, I spend my cash on hardware, more specifically for my PowerMac. I am not a rich man, I spend less than a day a week working (total hours, thanks kindly) to live in comfort (soon to be a bigger space) So when I decide the spend my “hard earned” money on technology, it better last me longer than 3 months.

Apple has released their nice bits of technology, further making my 533mhz machine seem even more ancient than it is. Thankfully I’m happy with what I have, and until there comes a time I actually need a more powerful macintosh, I’ll keep my Powermac for a year more.

Who said playing it old school wasn’t fun?

Oh, before I go, World of warcraft IS playable, albeit choppy on a 533, if you have enough video ram.

That’s the news, for today at least.`

So viele lang, aber kein Pfosten…

April 10, 2006

I must say, the recent, um… months have been fairly busy – or at least demanding.
The most recent issues on my mind have only been partially geek related.
End of the month means i get to move out, and let me say, there is a nice two bedroom basement apt. that exceeds my current abode. Have I described my dwelling before? Either way, it is a one bedroom, the hallway also moonlights as our kitchen – meaning, our house thinks that because there is a fridge and an oven, kitchen thy name be!
I’ll enjoy the ramen noodles, and Heather’s birthday this friday! She’s going to turn tw…*men in black remove chris forcibly from the ibook*…. what I mean to say is… she becomes another year lovelier, and that moving will be the best gift I can get.

Photos are probably to follow.
