The night before Christmas Macworld
Mac users are a special breed. Christmas isn't as cool as the Macworld expo. Regular folk fail to see why Steve Jobs is so much cooler than Santa or Jesus Christ. Your typical geek doesn't have an eye for form over with function. Other companies don't get it. That's why we're called Apple fanboys; we appreciate Apple for its tastes.
The financially solvent believers flock every year to San Francisco to see his Steve-ness unveil products that shape the rest of the year. Those wiser and poorer stay at home. Both Engadget and Gizmodo are giving up to the minute info on the presentation. Apple is also giving a streaming feed of the Keynote afterwards in the afternoon. I look forward to any products released or overlord plans unleashed.
And much like Christmas Macworld is taken much too seriously. Before the keynote rumors spread like wildfire touting ethereal sightings and whispers as fact engraved. Fake Steve Jobs of the Secret Diary of FSJ is making the most of these. My personal favorite has to be John Gruber of Daring Fireball fame.
My advice, drink some Dr. Pepper and enjoy the night before Macworld. Maybe Steve will come down through your Fireplace late tonight. Be sure to have your smoking pipe and cookies ready.
